Find a missing or outdated answer

A practical checklist for publication, placement, caching, imports and getting useful support.

FAQs do not appear

  1. Confirm the answer and group are published.
  2. Check that the answer belongs to the selected group.
  3. For pages, check the block or generated shortcode.
  4. For products, check the assignment and the theme’s FAQ placement.
  5. If Pro is active, preview the product’s rules and exceptions.

The page shows old wording

Save the original shared answer, then read the plugin’s after-save notice. Check the URL in a signed-out window. Clear the relevant host or CDN cache if it still shows older content.

Local disk-cache integrations have been tested with WP Super Cache 3.1.4 and W3 Total Cache 2.10.7. This does not mean every host, CDN or multisite cache is automatically purged.

An answer block or embed is missing

CatalogFAQ only renders supported answer content. Unsupported blocks can be retained and reported without appearing on the storefront. Dynamic block bindings are not executed; a supported saved fallback may render.

Remote media can fail because its provider, URL or privacy settings prevent playback. Test a simple text answer to separate content issues from placement issues.

An import cannot continue

Read the specific validation error, compare the file with the supplied template, and preview again after correcting it. Check the required headers, format and selected matches. Do not repeatedly apply a file without reviewing whether the earlier run created items.

Send support a useful example

  • Your WordPress, PHP, CatalogFAQ Free and Pro versions.
  • Your theme and relevant integration versions.
  • The shortest steps that reproduce the issue.
  • What you expected and what actually happened.
  • A screenshot with keys, passwords and customer details removed.
